Picked this one up as a present for myself a while back, being a beer dedicated to Dad’s on fathers day, to go along with the other 364 days of the year that we can drink beer.
Pours a black colour like its name states, although it has a slight reddish brown tinge and thick beige bubbly head. Plenty of aromas coming through – sweet roasted coffee, caramel and chocolate malts, and pine and citrus.
The roasted coffee and chocolate malts comes through in the flavour along with a lingering hop bitterness and a sweet roasted chocolate aftertaste. A smooth medium bodied black IPA!
