It’s been a long time between beer reviews, with a few things
that have happen recently I’ve enjoyed drinking beer more than writing about it! Anyhow, this is one of many i have in my craft beer fridge that has been there for a while waiting to be drunk – Birra Del Borgo’s Duchessa.
This Saison pours a hazy golden colour in the glass with a healthy white head that dissipates to a fine lacing around the glass. Floral and fruit aromas are evident on the nose, a nice balance using spelt (ancient wheat species) instead of barley and a mild hop bitterness gives it a sweet flavour.
A rather refreshing beer that’s going down a treat, well suited to the heat wave Brisbane is experiencing at the moment!
