This beer comes from a unique US brewery in Delaware as one of their year round brews. One of my favourite US breweries even though this is only the second beer I’ve tried of theirs (with two more in the kegerator). It was their TV series Brew Masters for me that did it, which showed the extent that brewer Sam Calagione went to brew unique quality beers.
This Indian Brown Ale pours a very dark brown reddish almost black colour with a creamy head that reduces down to leave a foam ring around the glass edge. The roasted malts give a sweet chocolate caramel aroma and that continues on into the taste with hints of sweetness of brown sugar with fruity hops. A full bodied beer with a smooth mouthfeel.
A quality dark beer full of flavour.
This Black IPA beer is, as its name says, black in appearance with a slight reddish colour in the light and a beige head. The aroma is fruity and quite powerful from the Simcoe hops, with not much malt evident from smell. This beer has a nice hop bite, a sweet bitterness with citrus, piney, and malt flavours.
A smooth easy drinking beer from these crazy Scottish brewers – actually watching series 2 of Brew Dogs ATM.
Pours a clear dark amber with a creamy head that reduces. The aroma is quite floral and fruity. Had too (but didn’t need too) keep swirling the glass to release more aromas – nice! The malts release a roasted toffee taste as do the hops with a fruity floral flavour. Not a highly carbonated beer from the bottle, and definitely a beer to have a again. Need to try this on tap!
Great artwork on the bottle. Berserkers were warriors who fought in a nearly uncontrollable, trance-like fury. Probably would have drunk like that if I had any more. Great Beer!
