Salt Dick IPA
A collaboration beer between the two breweries, this beer pours a cloudy golden colour with a white bubbly head that sticks around. It has a tropical citrus aroma due to the use of the UK Pilgrim hops and the new Aussie Enigma hops. It has a nice flavour balance of malt and hops, not overly bitter (not heavily hopped). Quite a sessional ale with a sweet lingering aftertaste.
A unique name for a beer – nothing phallic – it’s actually an Afrikaners term (in this case) for someone (or something) that has one foot (brewer) in the UK and the other foot (brewer) in South Africa (Australia) and their dick dangling in the ocean. Fortunately the bottles artwork doesn’t show the third leg!

Auld Bulgin’ Boysterous Bicep
Pours a very dark brown/black with a small creamy tan head that dissipates to a fine ring around the edge of the glass. Has a unique combination of aromas – Smokey chocolate, peppery, salty sea (it’s brewed with Mussels and Oysters). It has a strong smooth smokey roasted chocolaty flavour with a smooth sweetness with hints of seafood just coming through. You can feel the ABV sneak up towards the end of the beer!
I wouldn’t normally eat oysters and mussel’s but used in this brew it works well. A nice drop but only in moderation of course. Unique artwork on the bottles label for a unique beer – looks like a character from the cursed crew of the Black Pearl in the Pirates of the Caribbean movie.

This is a Belgian style IPA Tripel
Pours a slightly cloudy orange golden colour with not a very big head and good carbonation. A clever blend of hops gives this beer a nice spicy, grapefruit, passion fruit apricot Aroma. Flavours evident are the fresh sweetness of pineapple and passion fruit from the hops complementing the malt.
An enjoyable sweet flavoured Belgian IPA. Highly rated in my books and I’ll have to get a few more from the brewery when my source is in that neck of the woods again as bottled supplies in Brisbane dried up pretty quick as it being a limited release.
Yet another bottle with great artwork!

Pours a clear dark amber with a creamy head that reduces. The aroma is quite floral and fruity. Had too (but didn’t need too) keep swirling the glass to release more aromas – nice! The malts release a roasted toffee taste as do the hops with a fruity floral flavour. Not a highly carbonated beer from the bottle, and definitely a beer to have a again. Need to try this on tap!
Great artwork on the bottle. Berserkers were warriors who fought in a nearly uncontrollable, trance-like fury. Probably would have drunk like that if I had any more. Great Beer!
